When you are doing construction or renovating a building, a sidewalk bridge or shed is pivotal. It provides protection for pedestrians walking under the contractor’s work area. The Department of Building may also require the installation of a sidewalk shed if it determines that a façade is unstable and a dangerous condition exists.
When erecting a sidewalk shed, we are careful to work with the building owner or contractor so that the shed is an idealized fit for the job site. This requires attention to many details, including where doorways, loading docks, handicap ramps and parking garage entrances are located. A sidewalk shed is usually eight feet in height but NY Empire State Scaffolding can provide sheds of varying greater heights as individual needs may demand.
